ATV, the vital link with Earth

<p>The <a href="http://www.astrium.eads.net/en/programme/atv.html">ATV </a>(Automated Transfer Vehicle) is a vehicle for the automated transfer of propellant supplies, food, water, and materials to the International Space Station. Once docked, it uses its engines to correct the ISS's orbit, in particular to avoid collisions with debris and to compensate for the station's regular drop in altitude due to the Earth's atmospheric drag.
